Survivor Shares Tornado Experience from His Van

In a dramatic account of survival, Cody Coombes shared his experience of riding out a powerful tornado in Little Rock, Arkansas, while inside his pest control van. The storm, classified as an EF-3, struck the area with terrifying force, reaching peak winds of 165 mph.

Coombes was working when the tornado hit. He described how he felt a sudden shift in the weather, prompting him to take shelter in his vehicle. As the tornado approached, he could hear the intense roar of the wind, which he compared to a freight train. The van shook violently, and he braced himself for the worst.

Fortunately, Coombes emerged from the ordeal relatively unscathed. He was relieved to find that, despite the destruction around him, he had survived the storm. Sadly, the tornado caused significant damage in the area, leading to the loss of lives. Reports indicated that one person died in North Little Rock and four others in Wynne as a result of the storm.

The National Weather Service confirmed the tornado’s strength and provided updates on the aftermath. Emergency services were deployed to assist residents affected by the disaster, and cleanup efforts began immediately.

This incident is a stark reminder of the power of nature and the importance of being prepared for severe weather. Coombes’ story of resilience offers hope and highlights the need for safety measures during such unpredictable events.
